Navigating the difficulties of independent-living, increased responsibility, and distance from home, college students encounter many unique and complex challenges. Between academic stressors, the search for social belonging, and a completely new environment, college students can become easily overwhelmed by their responsibilities. Dr. Victoria conducts individual psychotherapy sessions with college-aged young adults to enhance their emotional and behavioral functioning and to teach coping actions meant to assist in conquering difficult circumstances. Grappling with the extreme changes they face, they may exhibit decreased self-esteem, poor time management skills, and increased anxiety.
Dr. Victoria’s comprehensive and compassionate approach to psychotherapy can benefit college students in a number of ways. In order to navigate the everchanging world around them, Dr. Victoria provides support and guidance throughout confusing periods of transition such as moving away from home, adjusting to campus life, graduation, etc. Clients will learn strategies for improving time management and study skills, assisting students to strike a balance between their academic and personal lives. In an effort to promote building meaningful and fulfilling connections with others, Dr. Victoria teaches clients to set boundaries, hone their communication skills, and navigate adult relationships in a safe and healthy way. Dr. Victoria provides a safe and confidential space for young adults to address their struggles and explore questions of identity and purpose while teaching clients coping actions and self-care practices to empower their minds and ensure that they can perform at their fullest potential.
