Dr. Alexandra Victoria, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with children (ages 2-12), adolescents (ages 13-17), families, and adults. Her expertise spans across various settings, including in-patient hospitals, residential facilities, and private practice. Her practicum and internship clinical training at Miami Children’s Hospital (now Nicklaus Children's Hospital) encompassed psychological consultation liaison and treatment services to units such as Psychiatry, Neurology, Hematology/Oncology, Cardiology, Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care, Endocrinology and Diabetes, the Eating Disorder Program in the Department of Adolescent Medicine and the Behavioral Medicine Program serving children with neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders.
During her residency she worked with children, adolescents, families, couples, and adults in private practices and residential facilities throughout South Florida treating complex issues such as interpersonal difficulties, conflicts with family dynamics, trauma-related distress, life transitions, and child developmental/emotional challenges. Dr. Victoria’s extensive experience ensures compassionate, individualized, and effective care.
Dr. Victoria's clinical specialties include depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, behavioral problems associated with ADHD and other developmental or emotional challenges, eating disorders, mood disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Prader-Willi Syndrome. She additionally conducts comprehensive psychological assessments to establish diagnostic clarity and tailored treatment interventions for her clients.
Dr. Victoria’s psychotherapy incorporates a neuroscience approach with evidence-based practices and an in-depth analysis of clients unique set of needs. Her psychological approach utilizes evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), the Gottman Method (Couples Therapy), Play Therapy, Behavior Therapy, Neurofeedback, and Parent Management Training (PMT).
